Testimonial

"We've been pleasantly surprised by how much difference the insulation has made. Our home feels cosier, and long after we have turned the heating off, the house still feels warmer than before"

How does Solar work?

How it works

A solar PV panel consists of cells of one or two layers made from a semi-conducting material like silicon.

  • When light shines on the cell it creates an electric field across the layers, causing electricity to flow.
  • The electricity flows through a cable and is collected at a central point (the Inverter) often located in your roof space.
  • The Inverter then converts the electricity from a direct current (DC) to an alternating current (AC) and carries on into your home for you to use.
  • A meter displays the amount of electricity created so you can make your own calculations on the savings you are making.

If you don’t use all the electricity that you have generated it will be fed into the National Grid automatically.
